Matt & Aisling’s Bristol Register Office wedding; The Old Council House

It was a pleasure to photograph Matthew & Aisling’s beautiful ceremony at The Bristol Register Office, The Old Council House in Corn Street. This elegant, neo-Classical Grade II listed building has many wonderful features, including a grand sweeping staircase which we used for a big group shot as the rain poured outside. They said their vows in front of family and friends in the The Grand Council Chamber room which is the largest of the available rooms with many historical original features surrounding them. Their service was full of laughter and joy and it was evident how happy the Bride & Groom were to be marrying one another.

Having photographed Matthew’s sister’s wedding back in February, I was honoured to be asked to document Matt & Aisling’s wedding day. The forecast was for heavy rain but we were blessed with a perfect dry window of time where we headed to Temple Gardens in their wedding car, a beautiful yellow classic Triumph convertible. Aisling had told me she was a little nervous about having her photo taken, but she needn’t have worried as she turned out to be a natural! One of the reasons I suggest we grab this window of time for the Bride & Groom portraits is so that you can both catch a breath and enjoy your first moments of being husband and wife. We had a great time exploring the gardens and it was obvious how happy and in love this couple are and it really shows in the photographs.

For the reception we headed to a local recently modernised Scout Hut which had been decorated beautifully by Matt & Aisling and their friend’s and families. I loved the sweeping yellow material and bunches of sunflowers adorning every table. I also loved the fairy lights and all the wood and natural touches. It was a day full of laughter, love and colour and even the rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, in fact I particularly like some of the rainy shots.

Wedding guests can view all the photos from the day by heading over to the Client Gallery and clicking on Matt & Aisling’s album (please ask the Bride or Groom for the password) you can also order prints online there if you would like.
