Engagement Portraits Cardiff

Teresa & Shabba at Alexandra Gardens, Cardiff

I am so delighted to be able to share Teresa & Shabba’s special engagement portraits taken recently on a gorgeous spring day in a beautiful park in Cardiff. Alexandra Park near the Cardiff museum is a beautiful spot for portraits, and this time of year it is especially stunning with all the cherry blossom trees in full glory and the amazing tulip displays.

Teresa & Shabba have been together for 10 years already and are getting married at the gorgeous Priston Mill next month. This will also be followed by a Hindu wedding in London that promises to be colourful and loud 🙂 It is very special for me to be able to take photographs for Teresa, as we are old friends from a long time ago and I had the privilege of taking photographs for her sister’s wedding many years ago at the start of my wedding photography career.

These two were so lovely to hang out with on the day and are so natural with each other, they made my job easy. They even brought their dog Herbie for the session which was great fun. In between throwing a ball for him for to chase, we managed to get a couple of cute family shots. I absolutely love this time of year when all the flowers and trees wake up and colour and light come back into the world. Engagement shoots are offered as part of my wedding packages and offer a good chance for us to get to know each other better and for me to see how you naturally interact as a couple and with the camera.

It is also a good chance for a trial run of the sort of portraits I aim to capture on the wedding day. I always suggest that we plan in at least half an hour for the three of us to go for a wander and take some portraits of you both in your beautiful wedding outfits. Many of my clients have commented that they particularly enjoyed taking some time out for these portraits on the wedding day as a chance to just catch up with themselves and their new spouse. My style is natural and relaxed, I will offer direction if needed, but mostly follow how you are naturally with each other.

I hope you enjoy these photos and they fill you with happy warm spring feelings. Can’t wait for the weddings now 🙂
