Westonbirt Arboretum; beautiful Autumn colour

I have often heard how wonderful Westonbirt Arboretum is in Autumn, so I was determined to get there this year and see for myself. I was not disappointed. The colours this year seem to be particularly vivid, everywhere I look at the moment I have been amazed by this changing colour palette. Westonbirt was exceptionally breathtaking. Believe it or not, I haven’t adjusted the colours in these photographs at all. The colours are so vivid, some of them look surreal, I often felt like I was looking at tropical flowers, rather than trees. The seasonal trail at Westonbirt contained many variations of Japanese Acers, beautiful bold reds, oranges and yellows.

I went with a good friend of mine and her little girl and the kids had great fun playing with the leaves and running in and out of the trees. I highly recommend Autumn for family portraits as nature provides some of the most spectacular natural backdrops and the kids love playing with the leaves.

In the midst of difficult and depressing times I am grateful that there is beauty and hope to be found still. I find being out in nature, seeing such incredible natural wonders a kind of therapy for me. I want to share these images with you in the hope these beautiful colours will also inspire and brighten your day x
