Best Cornwall Wedding Photography

Here it is finally, my best Cornwall wedding photography for 2021. Where do I start?… It was a year of extremes to say the least. We started the year back in lockdown. Naively I had my head in the sand despite the growing news speculations and dire covid forecasts I convinced myself we wouldn’t go back into ANOTHER lockdown surely??

It was a horrible sense of deja-vu as all my work suddenly disappeared again overnight and I found myself stuck at home attempting to ‘home school’ my three young kids. I know I am not alone when I say this was one of the hardest experiences of my parenting life. I am normally a Mum that relies on getting out and about with my kids and making the most of the great outdoors, so to be stuck at home all day every day, unable to see friends and family, was pretty tough at times.

I think us parents all gained a new sense of wonder and awe for teachers everywhere during those months. I really missed shooting and being out and about. We did go for our daily walks and made the most of living near the sea, but I was incredibly happy when the schools went back after Easter and restrictions started to be lifted.

One of my first shoots back was an engagement shoot with Emily & Jack on their farm overlooking the Camel Trail and out to Padstow. It’s fair to say I was very happy to be back in the place I love, shooting people in love, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, sheep and cows! All of a sudden things went from 0 to 100 seemingly overnight. As restrictions started to be lifted people that had been left in limbo with their wedding plans, decided to go for it and plans were firmed up once more. I ended up covering a number of weddings for other photographers as it was still a tricky time trying to navigate the ‘pingdemic’ and living with the constant fear of either being pinged or catching covid and having to isolate.

As the year went on, the covid vaccinations got underway and some sense of normality started to come back. Finally, all restrictions were lifted in the summer and weddings as we had previously known them, complete with full on dance floors and lack of face coverings were back. It felt really special to see everyone letting their hair down again on the dance floor and being able to celebrate the way we haven’t been able to for the last 18 months.

I met some awesome people this year and shot some beautiful weddings in fantastic locations. It’s been especially lovely for me to discover more of Cornwall this year and be inspired by the landscape in this part of the world. I have loved working at Carnglaze Caverns, Polurrian on the Lizard and Frieda & Moon in particular this year.

I was also part of some beautiful styled shoots, much of which I haven’t yet released as the rest fo the year suddenly got so busy with weddings and editing. I am excited to see what 2022 will bring. I’m looking forward to being at more new venues this year and back to some of my local Cornish favourites too.
