So…why choose me to photograph your wedding? Hopefully, you will have had a chance to look through my portfolio and blog of recent weddings and like the way I see the world. I have been working as a professional wedding and portrait photographer ever since I finished my photography degree back in 2005, so I have a wealth of experience to draw from. Having worked and lived abroad, I have worked with people from many different cultures and love making new friends and bring this approach to every wedding.

There are a number of factors to consider when choosing your photographer and price is just one of them. I really believe it’s important to click with your photographer. Frequently asked questions

How do I book you?

If you like what you see, then the next step is to get in touch. Tell me about your wedding plans and where and when you are getting married. We can then have a chat and find the best package for you.

I have a range of flexible package options and believe that every wedding is unique and should be treated that way. I’m happy to give you a call, arrange a zoom or even meet up in real life so we can see if we’re a good fit.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes, to secure your wedding date you will need to fill out and return a booking form and pay a small deposit.

The amount varies depending on the package you decide to go for. It is normally £300 for full day packages or £150 for part day coverage.

How many photographs will we receive?

This varies depending on the length of coverage and how many guests you have. On average a full day wedding will be no less than 600 photographs and can sometimes be up to 1000! I tend to shoot more than I need as I don’t want to miss anything so you can be sure there will plenty of photographs.

What if I don't like having my photo taken?

Firstly don’t worry, I hear this a lot! I know that posing in front of a camera is not everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, I know how you feel – I much prefer being behind the camera!

One of the things I am most proud of is consistently getting 5 star reviews that particularly comment on my ability to help people relax and enjoy the session.

My aim is always to put you at ease – normally by saying or doing something stupid so you laugh at me!

My style is very natural and my favourite photographs are always the ones where you are relaxed and just being yourselves.

All you need to do is concentrate on each other and enjoying being together and let me work my magic.

I also offer engagement shoots with all my full day packages which is another great way of having a practise run and seeing how I work on the day.

What about group photos?

I mostly work in a natural reportage way catching all the special candid moments on the wedding day. However, if you would like some group shots that is absolutely fine with me.

I have found with experience that it is best to limit the group shots to around 8 different groups and then we can whizz through them in around 20 mins. I have a suggested shot list and we can discuss this when we go over the wedding details.

Can we print the photos?

Yes, of course! All of my packages come with the printable versions of the photographs either sent by digital download or on a USB stick.

Please do print them, I hate to think of these beautiful photos stuck on a computer, just please find a decent lab.

Do you charge travel costs?

I am happy to travel for weddings – especially if it is with an awesome couple in a cool venue! I don’t charge travel for weddings in Cornwall or Devon.

To be honest I probably wouldn’t charge travel anywhere in the South West but may have to charge a little extra if travelling to the other end of the country.

How long will it be before we get our photos?

I normally share a little Facebook / Instagram preview with a couple of images to keep you going in the days just after your wedding.

I aim to deliver the full gallery 4 – 6 weeks after the wedding. If it is a particularly busy season I will let you know if it is likely to be longer. Often though I have surprised couples with how quickly I have got their galleries out to them.

Do you edit the photographs?

Yes, I personally go through every photograph and process them. I have developed my own signature style over the years. I process the photographs in a colourful film like style.

There is a fashion for dark and moody edits at the moment, but that isn’t really me. I love colour and also strong black & whites so you will normally receive a mixture of both in your set.

The most important part for me is to creative emotive images that you will love. Check my galleries to see the kinds of shots I take.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, of course all of my camera equipment is insured and I have all the relevant insurances including public indemnity and public liability insurance.

Can I add an album?

Even if you didn’t go for a package with a wedding album this can be added at any time after the wedding. I keep your files for several years (as long as space allows).

I would highly recommend adding an album as they are of the finest quality and will be a lasting legacy for generations to come. Ask for more information.

What if we need two photographers?

I normally work alone but can add a second photographer for extra coverage for an additional £300.

This is a good option if you have a really large wedding party or both want the getting ready shots covered.

What if you're sick on the day?

Firstly this has never happened to me in 15 years (thank God!)

However, I am a member of several different networks of professional wedding photographers. If I needed to I could call on another trusted professional to shoot for me on the day.

Do we need to feed you?

Yes please is the short answer! If I am only covering a few hours then this won’t be necessary but otherwise yes please.

I am not fussy and don’t have to have the same meal as your guests, just something to keep me going on a long day is much appreciated.

What if I have to reschedule my wedding?

Covid has caused a lot of postponements and rescheduling over the last year. My official contract states that I charge a £25 administration fee but in reality I haven’t charged anyone. I’m pleased to say that I have managed to reschedule the majority of booked weddings.

I’m hopeful that we are moving out of these difficult times back to a more normal future, but in the meantime I will do my best to work with you and reschedule your wedding if necessary.

If the worst happens and you have to cancel your wedding or rearrange to a date that I can’t do the deposit is unfortunately non refundable.

However, in the very rare instance where that has happened I will always try and offer a portrait shoot or print credit of equivalent value as a gesture of goodwill.
