Just the two of you elopement

I asked Tom & Maya to tell us a bit about who they are, and what they offer with BoHo Cornwall.

“We are a “just the two of you” elopement specialist. A husband and wife team offering a personal, elegant and five star elopement service. We guide couples from first enquiry, through planning their elopement and we prepare, deliver and host the wedding (or vow renewal ceremony). Due to many requests over the years, we also offer tiny family elopements when our couples wish to include their children in the ceremony.

We established BoHo Cornwall Elopements almost 10 years ago, in 2013. Since then, we have personally hosted and witnessed over 750 weddings (and loved every one!) We set out to provide a magical wedding experience “just for two”, based on what we would have liked for ourselves when we got married. For the first 8 years we hosted weddings in our Arts & Crafts style country house on the West Penwith coast, set in 4 acres with amazing ocean views. In 2021 we moved our business to Pengersick Castle, a beautiful little Tudor castle tucked away in Praa Sands, just a short stroll from the beach. Here, we continue to offer our highly personal, magical elopement experience for our couples and families.”

“Amy and Orry contacted BoHo Cornwall in May 2022. They asked us if we would make an exception to our Just The Two of You policy and include their daughter in their elopement, which we were very happy to do.

We guided them through the process of booking the registrar and giving notice. We also had a few calls with them over the months leading up to their big day, so that we could give them a highly personal wedding experience and stay. It was an absolute pleasure to host the three of them and create a magical space for their ceremony. It was extra special to have Esmee there with them, very much a part of their ceremony.”

Why elope to Cornwall?

When asked why they chose to elope to Cornwall , Amy told me “We chose Tom & Maya to help as our lifestyle is busy – who has time to organise a wedding!?! And what a splendid job they did. It was the most easy going smooth day, no stress, no hassle just happiness. Great communication from them both, nothing was ever a trouble – even hosting our 6 year old! The location is perfect and we have a great team. Thankyou to Tom & Maya, Hannah for photography and Jules for our hair and makeup.”

I absolutely loved photographing this sweet family elopement in Pengersick Castle. This romantic Tudor Castle is a photographer’s dream! I loved the winding staircase and the warm, romantic atmosphere that Maya & Tom had created for their wedding ceremony. The ceremony room twinkled with candles and even smelled gorgeous with atmospheric incense. I loved exploring this romantic castle, even taking some photographs on the roof and making the most of the gardens and quirky castle features.

Praa Sands Wedding Photographer

After spending some time exploring the castle and it’s grounds, we jumped into the van for a short drive down to Praa Sands for some coastal wedding photographs. The wind was blowing a gale, but that didn’t put us off! I love to embrace the elements, whatever they are like on your wedding day. I think the wind adds a certain romance, even if it was a bit wild at points! The colour of the sea is stunning in this part of Cornwall, even on a dull overcast day. We had fun taking family photographs on the beach, along with romantic newly wed portraits.

If you’re looking for a romantic place to elope with your partner, I would highly recommend BoHo Cornwall and Pengersick Castle. Tom & Maya were so lovely to work with and it is obvious that they care deeply about what they do. This venue is truly magical and very close to gorgeous Cornish beaches, plus with exclusive overnight accommodation, you get the bonus of living like Kings & Queens for the duration of your stay!
