Cornwall Elopements are always very popular and for good reason! Cornwall is one of the UK’s top destinations for elopements and weddings. With over 300 beaches and some of the country’s most beautiful wedding venues it’s not surprising. Elopements are a lovely way to keep things simple and celebrate in a more relaxed way.
The Cow Shed Weddings at Freathy is one of my favourite local wedding venues. Rustic Country Wedding Venue
Zoe and Freddie were married in the carefully restored Cow Shed complete with fairy lights, flowers and other charming country touches. This venue is the most popular backdrop for rustic wedding ceremonies. The enchanting timbered barn venue is dressed with fairy lights, rustic decorations, and a handmade wedding archway, and is completed with blanket covered hay bales for guest seating, providing an intimate setting for your ceremony.
Cornish Elopement
Heavily pregnant with their second child, Zoe & Freddie chose to come to Cornwall for their elopement. They both have always had a fondness for Cornwall and decided to leave their daughter at home with family and take a break in Cornwall and get married at the same time! They had the place to themselves for a few days which is included in the package and made everything very relaxed. I always feel very honoured to be part of such an intimate wedding and sometimes even sign the register as a witness when needed.

After their wedding ceremony and some celebratory drinks, we took some photographs around the gorgeous venue and then headed out to a local rape seed field that I had spotted. I am always struck by the vivid colour of these fields and knew I wanted to get some shots there.
Coastal wedding photography
Next we headed to Portwrinkle beach as Zoe & Freddie really wanted some coastal wedding photographs. The Cow Shed is only a 5 minute drive from one my favourite stretches of Cornish coast. I love this time of year as everything is starting to bloom – including the wild flowers along the coastal path!
