Emily & Jack

Camel Trail, Padstow, Cornwall

After several long months of lockdown and cancelled shoots I was super excited to get back to doing what I love for this Cornwall engagement photography shoot with Emily & Jack.

Emily & Jack are dairy farmers based near Padstow and the River Camel, Cornwall.  The farm is a huge part of their life and they will be getting married at home this summer. It also has the most stunning views of the estuary and across to Padstow. The location and views were incredible, the golden evening light perfect and Emily & Jack were the sweetest couple. I was unashamedly delighted to be there as we wandered around the Camel trail getting to know each other and taking some gorgeous shots.

As every photographer knows, light is incredibly important to making an image. Shooting at golden hour would always be my preference for wedding and engagement photographs. It is well worth making time for a sunset stroll on your wedding day with your photographer if you can – you won’t regret it!

The beauty of an engagement shoot is that we have a chance to get to know each other. I get to see how you interact as a couple and what works for the photos, and you get to have a trial run and see how I work. I always work in a relaxed way and many couples have commented on my ability to put the most camera shy people at ease. We tend to go for a walk and I will make suggestions as I see shots. I never pose couples but give you suggestions and prompts to help you relax and get the best out of you.

This was a first for me having baby cows and lambs in an engagement shoot but they were so adorable they had to be included! I’m super excited about the upcoming wedding and can’t wait for some epic bride & groom farm shots.
